Farzified

A new restaurant opening up is like a regular day in Pune. With its plethora of eateries and concept-cafes Pune has been a gastronomic haven for food lovers. However, the new-yet-not-so new Farzi Cafe has already set roots in many cities like Delhi, Bangalore and Dubai. So when it finally landed in Pune, it caused quite a stir.

Since it's launch it has been running booked to the brim and social media has been farzified with pictures and reviews of the incredible looking dishes and drinks that only Farzi could churn out.
Farzi aims to redefine Indian cuisine by not only playing to its strength but also adding modern elements and techniques that make it appealing to old as well as young.

We were received an invitation for a tasting that was received with much excitement as we would have been dropping by for a taste anyway. The swanky place is located in Kalyani Nagar and is hard to miss. Once inside, you can't help but catch the infectious atmosphere. The place is buzzing with steady stream of people, the music is great ranging from classic rock to electronic and the servers bringing up futuristic looking concoctions to the tables.

Though we had a dinner meet up and the place was dimly lit, yet it was easy to spot the details that had been so meticulously thought out. The interior is plush but not stuffy with an eclectic mix of chairs, couches and even swings for the patrons to park themselves on. Also the entire seating area has been designed in such a way that the entire area can be neatly pulled out to the corners to create a dancing area if need arises. Now that's some clever designing!

There is also an open air seating on the terrace that has a beautiful island bar and classy decor. It screams date-night to me (I hope all boys are listening) ;)

As we were hosted by Farzi Cafe itself along with the most interesting and lovely ladies from Carpe Diem, we were plied on with food and drinks, and we were constantly having our mind blown with all the awesomeness.

We started off these amazing amuse bouche that I could probably feast on just as it is! These were tiny bowls of globular MISHTI DOI with STRAWBERRY COULIS. The bowls came in a foaming black tray making it look like alien eggs from a sci-fi thriller. We probably downed a couple of these.

The drinks had us bowling over. With Farzi experimenting with a mix of molecular mixology and clever presentations, the concoctions were a sight to behold. And they tasted just as good.
We started off with FARZI APPLE FOAMINTINI which was a delicious cocktail of green apples, vodka, mint and elder flower topped with minty foam. It was served on a conical bowl resting on top of another round bowl. The lower bowl had dry ice creating aromatic fumes of cinnamon, orange and mint. Quite a presentation that!

We also tried CHUSKI MARGARITA which was tequila based, aam panna flavored margarita and it came with a chuski or shaved ice cone. It was so much fun dipping our ice golas into the cocktail and slurp it up!

The other drink that impressed us out of the lot was CHAI PANI. The cocktail was served in smoking (do we see a pattern here?) kettles with earl grey flavored fumes that gave the illusion of piping hot beverage. But once it was served in the tiny chai glasses you'd know they were chilled cocktail of vodka, coffee liquer and apple juice. Savage!

Then as food arrived we sat there eating until we had to beg for mercy, because we couldn't eat anymore. But we'd do it again if given a chance and we are planning a trip down to Farzi again. So here are our favorite picks out of the menu that we loved-loved-loved and would be glad if you tried!

MINI RAJ KACHORI: We can't recommend this enough. These deceptive looking buggers came in blobs of odd threes. If you saw them as it is, you wouldn't be that impressed. In fact our first instinct was to sniff it. It was a smallish globe of crispy looking pastry, topped with a chutney foam sitting on a bed of crispy okra. Everything in the sentence made us suspicious until they told us to take our spoons and crack the buggers open. We did and oh boy, what wizardry. The kachoris cracked open to reveal yogurt and spices and minty flavors, while the chutney foam was phenomenal. The revelation for us was the crunchy okra that came in the sides. That is our new favorite way to eat the good ol' bhindi.

CHILLI DUCK SAMOSA was another stunner. It was shaped like a samosa but it was more of a pastry with spiced duck filling. The samosa was coated with sweet and sour asian sauces and was stellar.

The other Indian classic that seemed Farzified was the DAL CHAWAL ARACHINI. It was the staple Dal-Chawal but in an Italian Arachini form. Kind of reminded me of the time my mother used to force feed me food, she always made these balls, which I sort of loathed....but I digress. And I couldn't be more wrong. This Dal-Chawal balls came with a garnishing of papad, chutney and veggies. Thumbs up!

Another vegetarian appetizer that piqued quite some interest in the table was the KARELA CALAMARI. When I heard the name, I almost snorted some of my foamintini, laughing at such cruel joke on the vegetarians. But when they brought it in, the dish looked so much like calamari taht you wouldn't suspect otherwise. But it was really just karela (bitter-gourd). So maybe it was mostly as a trick dish for the non-vegetarians? Hmmmm.
Either ways, it was a good, innovative dish. The karela had been cut into calamari shapes and crisped and then coated with sweet and sour mango coating. Not bad at all.

The KEEMA KULCHA was a play on the - surprise! Keema and Kulcha. Yes, I'm not feeling very effusive today. But this dish was another one of our favorites. These were tiny pockets of warm kulchas filled with minced mutton prepared with spicy tinge. It came with a minty jalapeno raita... and it only made the dish perfect.

Now my personal favorite would be the TEMPURA FRIED PRAWNS WITH LEMON-CHILLY FOAM because I'm usually not that big on sea-food. I know that's a weird reason to give but I am not the biggest fan a prawn can find, but this dish was so amazing. Probably because it didn't have the fishy prawn smell. This might be offensive to some die-hard sea-food lovers, but I have realized I prefer prawns that way and this was just perfect. Crispy and saucy and the lemon-chilly foam tasted true to its name. Do try this!

For all the pork lovers, there is this DELHI BELLY PORK BELLY TIKKA which had a nice chunk of sizzling pork with the meat so tender it slid off the bones! It came with a slice of granny smith apple- classic pork and apple affair. It's a good hearty appetizer and the anardana chutney just tipped it over to the 'Favorites' list.

As we transitioned to the mains we were served cool, interesting KHANDVI SORBET as a palate cleanser. It came in cute lollipop shape and had the unmistakable taste of the curd, spices, mustard and gramflour. We thought it was brilliant. We were quite warming up to the idea of palate cleansers.

The mains was the quickest maybe. Probably because we were all too stuffed on the starters and in my case, too eager for the deserts. Nevertheless, it was quite enjoyable. There was the BHEJA FRY which was deliciously prepared lamb brain served with an corriander and cumin flavored appam.
We also loved the ASPARAGUS AND WATER CHESTNUT KORMA that came with a appam too and served with a delicious curry of asparagus.

After all the theatrics in the beverages and the appetizer department, the mains seemed quite underwhelming though some made up for it with wonderful flavors. However, the CHICKEN TIKKA MASALA came in a largish, red telephone booth, which frankly we saw no point of. Our poor servers struggled to get the bowls of chicken tikka and naan out of the telephone box. It was over-the-top and honestly, unnecessary depositing a box the size of a small child on top of the table. And the dish never could make it up to all the commotion it created.

The commencement of the dessert started with the riveting BAILEY'S LOLLIPOP which was basically frozen Bailey's coated with white chocolate. We wanted more of those but unfortunately others beat us to that.

The dessert makes or breaks a place, we think. Dessert is like starting from a fresh page. Knowing the sweeter side of a restaurant is always fun. And it was fun here too. We were served the classic Farzi bestsellers: RASMALAI TRES LECHES and PARLE G CHEESECAKE. The Rasmalai one looked like art on a plate. The Tres Leches cake actually went quite well with the Rasmalai which was so creamy and decadent!

The PARLE G CHEESECAKE looked like childhood in a plate. It had a big chunk of cheesecake wedged between two parle g biscuits and topped with Gems and sitting on a pool of creamy Rabdi. The cheesecake was as I prefer my cheesecake- heavy on the cheese and a bit sour. I loved that it wasn't too sweet like they make it in so many places. The sweet balance came with the rabdi which was quite yummy just by itself. The parle g did not quite make up for the absence of the salty layer of graham cracker crust that I am partial too. But a thumbs up nonetheless.

We wound up with a box of FARZI PAAN which was cotton candy shaped into paan that you could pop into your mouth which revealed the paan masala as the candy outside melted easily. Brilliant!

The bloggers' table was a happy place that night. Good company, good food and good drinks meant a successful night. Farzi Cafe really outdid itself that evening and we had a great time. A big shout to team Farzi for having us over and love to the beautiful girls at Carpe Diem!!

P.S: Do pop into Farzi Cafe to try out their new, jazzy roof-top dining. And have a look at their smoking area when you are there! Trippy! Also we WANT to know what you ordered and what you loved. You'll keep us posted, won't you?
Happy Kukkad-Hunting!

Delish

Bad memories for birthday dates means you always have to have a stellar backup for just in cases. We are never have the best memories with birthdays and most often than not are only reminded by a handy calendar or a helpful friend who's inquiring about the plans for the d day.

For all those forgotten and unplanned birthdays we have Delish. Our neighborhood friendly bakery. Many a friend's birthdays have seen us rushing to the bakery offices for a last minute order.

The place is not even a full fledged bakery, don't expect to find displays of confections to choose from or cakes to buy in the eleventh hour. All they have is an office where you can drop by to let them know what you want. And in spite of that, Delish has grown to accumulate a stream of loyal patrons (including yours truly).

The best thing about the Delish is that they make sure all your cake dreams come true. For a nominal price of course. So you can pick out your favorite flavors and decorations or designs off the internet and you can rest assured they'll give it their best.

We have always had our birthday cakes customized from them since we stumbled into them a year back. From angry birds to superheroes, they do it all.

We were recently going through a sweet tooth craving as well as wanted to work our photography skills a bit. So we dropped by for inspiration and immediately decided on a stack of choco-vanilla cupcakes. You can order your pack of 12 mini ones or 9 medium ones or 6 large ones. Plus you have the flexibility of choosing the type of cakes and toppings.
Win win!

We got ours pretty early next day given the fact they are pretty busy and require more than a day to make sure your cakes are made to perfection. Perhaps it was because got a basic ones with just frosting and sprinkles. You can get yours customized to cute drawings or witty slogans.

The taste was as usual flawless. The cakes were spongy and moist. The frosting was creamy like we wanted and it was pure indulgence. As soon as the shoot was done we attacked it like hungry zombies on brains. (yes, we are weird like that)

Any which ways, Delish has always been our go to for our confection needs. If you live around wakad or nearby give it a shot. You can get their contact off Zomato.

As always, thank us later :D

Five Reasons You'll Fall in Love with The Little Next Door, Kalyani Nagar

Tucked away in quiet road in Kalyani Nagar is a little blue door. It's a pretty door, quite tiny, that grabs your attention and beckons you towards it. Little do you suspect, little does anything prepare you for what lies beyond. It might as well be named the doorway to Narnia, because it transports you to a different place. A fun place, to be precise.

We were lucky enough to get a chance to walk past (or crouch through, in Mr. TLD's case) the little blue door with an equally fun entourage. The foodie peeps accompanying us made sure that the happening place came alive with laughter, fun and silliness. And to sum it up we had an amazing night, something we really hadn't been expecting.

It may be quiet out on the street but once you walk in through the door, the place comes alive, buzzing with energy. Quite popular with the young crowd, you will find it hard to find tables on some weekends. The place is done up nicely with funky decor and colorful hues. Mismatched seating (we even spotted a couple of rocking chairs), stack of games, foosball table, live bar and indoor area as well makes sure you have enough room for all your shenanigans.

We were loaded with so much food and drinks that night that instead of a boring, detailed review, I will now proceed to prove how and why you'll probably love to hang out in The Little Next Door.

1. DRINK LIKE A FISH: The choices and the witty menu always makes me heady (though I suspect it's mostly the cocktails). The rates are nominal and the varieties so many to choose from. All the non-drinkers have a lot of interesting and unique mocktails. In fact, we ended up drinking quite a few as well.
We were able to sample a host of drinks and if you love Oreos and have got a sweet tooth then, we'd suggest you try the FROSTED OREO. Its delicious. If not the BERRY and KIWI MOJITO is just as good, minus the chocolate. We also loved the JAGER CAPRIOSKA.

Teetotalers, give the SANGRIA a shot if you can.

2. PLAY LIKE IT'S FOR MONEY: Well, we are competitive blokes. Put us up with a challenge and we get the beast mode on at go. And when you spot a foosball table or a giant Jenga blocks you always hand out challenges like mints.

Everyone really got down to business and flocked the foosball table and the Jenga blocks. Bets were placed, cheers and jeers hurled and food tasting forgotten.

If you are planning to drop by with your gang expect to leave completely entertained. There are board games available too. And I'm sure I noticed a game of noughts and crosses made up of rope hanging on one corner. Sweet!

3. HOG LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW: Now comes the most important and delicious reason. The food is great. Right from the finger food to nibble on while you indulge in fun and games or sit down and eat during a date, there's something for everybody! Even vegetarians!

Our pick from the night's menu were THE CONFUSED NACHOS which were loaded with cheeses and sauces, with generous toppings of bellpeppers jalapenos, olives, feta etc. It was probably the most loved starter (probably because it arrived first and everyone was starving!)

There was also this BAIGANVILLA, which was basically a dish of 'Baigan' or Brinjal. And it came as a surprise because it didn't taste like one at all. The baingan mix was scooped into these crispy, savory pastry and it looked tempting on the plate.

We also liked the STICKY WINGS. Just like we prefer it. Tender chicken and hot, sticky sauce that you can dig into and make a mess out of. Mmmm.

The cutest dish was probably the PIG IN A BLANKET. So it literally had 3 tiny pastry piglets, baked to golden brown sitting on a bed of pork and bacon. I almost felt sad for cutting them but I really didn't regret it once I had a taste. Perfect!

Though we were pretty stuffed for the mains we ordered it none the less and best. decision. ever. It all started with KADDU RISOTTO. Yes, as the name clearly tells, it was risotto with pumpkin in it and guess what, it gives all other chicken risottos I've had a run for their money. It was that good! Creamy and delicious, it was a hearty meal in itself. So all meat-lovers, do give this a try before you pity the vegetarians. They actually have it good.

The non veg section offered dishes like STUFFY BREAST, which had a sizeable slab of chicken with sauce, mashed potatoes and veggies; SUNBATHING PRAWNS and BEEFY POTATO TAGINE which was welcomed with such excitement by a friend, that he hardly had eyes for anyone else. Him and beef have a real, torrid affair. Hmm, still a better story than twilight.

4. SWEET IT OUT: Oh, the dessert. TLD has come up with a line of sweets known as DRUNK DESSERTS. These will be spiked with considerable alcohol and its perfect for the parties or fun get-togethers with friends. We tried the RUM DRUM which had a rum soaked chocolate cake which got an extra layer of hot chocolate poured all over it.

We also got to try the MINI DONUTS and CHURROS which were served with a pot of warm and still warming pot of chocolate dip The Donuts and churros were soft and great to eat just as it came, but the chocolate dip and the punch in it, made it a great dessert to share over jokes and laughter.

5. PARTAY OWL THE TIME: The most important thing to consider while you are busy looking for spots to hit on a night out with friends is how interesting a place is and if the crowd there is just as nice. Trust me, there has been more than one time when we've had headed out for drinks with friends to swanky places and they've all turned damp squibs. No matter how great a place is, it's the ambience that really makes it happening.

With a huge space for moving around, 3 types of seating areas (indoors, outdoors and rooftop), good music and games TLD boasts of one of the best turn-out where party-goers are concerned. You can always make new friends over a game of foosball or involve in happy banter with friends at the bar. The steady in flow of the cool kids will make sure the atmosphere stays buzzing at all times!

Do give this place a visit. Most of the things we have tried were addition to a new menu, so even if you've been here before this calls for another pop in!
\We hope you like what we recommended. Let us know what you thought of it and if you'd like us to know of another great dish we missed out! We are nothing if not all ears for good food suggestions! :)

Gozo

No matter how much we make elaborate diet plans, no matter how many discussions we have on healthy eating, the truth of the matter remains as it is: We are dessert people. Try as he may, Mr.TKD always falls for a good dessert. Many a tasting sessions we have had when he has completely skipped the sweet dishes much to everyone's chagrin. But faced with a tempting, sinful dessert chances are he will break down enough to sample a bite. Which always leads to seconds and thirds and empties for me.

We were going through one of our 'We-are-on-a-serious-diet' weeks when Gozo Desserts offered us a treat which we might have accepted (we did) and devoured in a day (we totally did).
Gozo Dessert is a Pune based brand run by the lovely Poonam Joshi which offers homemade icecreams in a variety of flavors that will give you dessert dreams. And that is not even the best thing about it, the ice-creams are free from all harmful preservatives and added flavors that make it so much more healthier. Not to mention they are smooth and sinful.

The icecreams come in cute, handy jars that you can definitely reuse to store knick-knacks or kitchen stuff. The quantity is quite generous and considering it's all-natural, freshly-made dessert, the price is a steal. You get to choose out of a list of tempting concoctions and the jars are priced Rs 350 for 500 ml of goodness.

We were able to sample the Mango and Coffee flavored jars. And the joy of just holding the cute jars in your hands with a promise of polishing it off by the end of the day is priceless.

The COFFEE ICE-CREAM was deliciously loaded with right amount of caffeine and had bits of chocolate in it. It was like biting into cold coffee. We garnished our bowls with brownies and chocolate sauce. Frankly speaking I could have finished off the entire jar by myself but Mr.TkD gave me unreal competition that day.

The MANGO ICE-CREAM was probably our favorite. So fresh, it was like eating a real mango. And amazingly creamy. We loved every spoonful and that jar was perhaps the quickest to empty.

Try it out for yourself. It's unbelievably easy to order a GOZO dessert. Just contact Poonam over the phone and she makes sure your jar of preciousness is delivered right up to your door!

Also sources tell us that Blueberry Cheesecake and Rose Pistachio are a bomb too. So basically, you cannot go wrong with this one.

Do let us know what you thought of it.

P.S: Thank us later :P

The K Factory

Sometimes you just come across that one place that you just
1. love start to finish,
2. can't gushing over and
3. can't wait to go back to, to try something new out of the menu.

Well we come across such gems rarely and when we do, we make it a point to share it with you food lovers.

The perfect place for us lately has been The K Factory. If you reside somewhere around Baner chances are you know or have heard of it already. Evenings, post 7 will always find the place buzzing with steady line of hungry people looking for a table. We find evenings the best time to be here as the ambiance is great. What happens when a diner and a ritzy, uptown restaurant marry and have a baby? That's K Factory for you. Classy yet casual. Does that make sense? Yeah, I think not. But you have to be here to know what I talking about.
And it's not just the interiors. The food, (oh, the food) is a perfect amalgamation of diner food with a gourmet twist. The presentation is beautiful, something that wouldn't look out of place on masterchef Australia. But then at the end of the meal, you look at your bill and you know you are never going to stop coming here anytime soon.

Since the time we have 'discovered', The Kukkad Diaries has been here quite a few times. Mr. TKD's philosophy on food is, if you love eating something or somewhere, eat until you don't want to eat it any longer. Though it did work for the time we were super obsessed with Caesar Salad and we literally lived on it for a month and we couldn't look at it for the following 3 months to come. However 4 trips to K Factory has yet to get us tired of the place. If you saw us you'd think we were on a mission to try everything on the menu. And we have. Almost.

So instead of a regular review, we give you our top picks and recommendations :

1. FLATBREADS: Its like K Factory's answer to omnipresent pizza. Thin crust and topped with choicest toppings. This is our sure pick off the menu. The bread is unleavened and doesn't use yeast but that doesn't make it less yummy. Toppings range from spicy chicken to tandoor vegetables.
TKD picks: Caramelized Onions & Spicy Goan Chorizo, Spicy Peri Peri Chicken

2. ROASTED CHICKEN DRUMETTES: These are probably one of the best drumsticks we have had. The spiciness is on point and the slow roasted chicken is so tender the meat just falls off the bone. It comes with a sour cream dip. The kukkadness just peaks with this one.

3. BBQ COTTAGE CHEESE TIKKA: Large chunks of cottage cheese grilled to perfection with marination of creamy cashews and cheese and teamed with grilled onion and tomatoes. It comes with a side of potato wedges that are wholesome and delicious at the same time.

4. DECONSTRUCTED PHILADELPHIA BAKED CHEESECAKE : Oh lord. This is like out kryptonite. I go weak in the knees for this one. The cheesecake is as it should be. Light yet cheesy. So smooth it puts James Bond to shame. It comes with butter crumble at the side and blueberry coulis and some mango cream. Just thinking about the cheesecake is making me hungry.

5. Pan Fried Paprika Chicken - A spicy sensation chicken cooked to perfection served with spaghetti and a tinge of olive oil

6. COOKIE SMOOTHIE: We've tried almost all the smoothies and we liked this the best. If you are a big fan of chocolate you could go for the dark chocolate smoothie. However we found all that chocolate a bit overwhelming. I wouldn't have minded so much chocolate in my hot chocolate but the cookie smoothie is perfect blend of everything. Goes great with everything.

7. Hunter Potato Wedges - These are your regular potato wedges but topped with loads of mayo tomato ketchup and cheese. We do believe that cheese makes every dish better and this dish was no exception. A must try

This is just some of our picks from our last couple of visits. We are still trying out more and we'll keep you updated. Also tag us or tell us of your favorite dishes.

K Factory probably the most competitive rates and almost all less than or little more than 100 bucks. And trust me, the quality and taste is the impeccable.

Do try this place and share it on Instagram or Roposo with us! Happy Kukkad hunting till then :)

Emilia Romagna Festival at Prego, Westin Koregaon Park

Growing up our concept of Italian meant a mandatory Pizza take-out on fridays and birthdays or the occassional white sauce pasta that the mother whipped up on nights she didn't want to cook. It was hence, easy, declaring to your school friends while you filled up the box next to the "Your favorite cuisine" in their slam-books with a "Italian" or a "Chinese". Only when we moved out of home, started fending for ourselves that we realized there was more to Italian than just pasta or to Chinese than Chopseuy. But revelation or no revelation, Italian has really stuck on as a favorite. Something about the simplistic preparation that aims at celebrating the ingredients that go into it. The richness and the freshness. All the red, white and green of it. We are in love. So when we heard that the Italian wing of Westin Pune's restaurants, Prego was hosting a food fest to glorify the cuisine of the famous region Emilia Romagna in Northern Italy, we made a bee line to the sample the same. The seasoned chef Eraldo Colazzo took us on a food trail of his homeland through dishes and tastes that he ensured were authentic as it gets. The chef ensures all the ingredients are top notch right from the parmesan that has been cured for months and the 15 year old balsamic vinegar that lifts up any dish to another level.

The Prego in itself is a very elegant place to dine at. It's popularity shows as there are always tables filled with Italian loving folks. The wide space is interspersed with comfortable seating and a glass facade that overlooks the Westin property. There is a bar as well as a open view to the kitchen beyond where you can spy the chefs busy at work, churning out pasta, pulling out spaghetti into bowls and doing the last minute garnishing.

We were welcomed with a delicious drink of ginger extract and watermelon juice served with a slice of watermelon. It was great palate cleanser and was followed by an Amuse Bouche of beetroot doused in balsamic, herbs and Ricotta cheese. It looked as pretty as it tasted.

We started off with the MOZZARELLA CAROZZA which was a nice chunk of mozzarella cheese crumb fried and served with a side of greens. It had a spicy tomato sauce to go with it. The mozzarella, as expected was stringy and juicy. All the cheese lovers (me included) would love it. It was the richer and elegant-er cousin of the mozzarella cheese sticks.

LUGO, that followed was made up of Polenta in the base that's basically boiled cornmeal which was then crisped up and served with a flavorful pate of tuna on top. The capers garnishing the bite sized polenta made it look so elegant. Alas, I'm not the best advocate for fishes, tuna being my least favorite of the lot, but I could give you this; the reaction around the table was very favorable.

Another one of my favorites of the night was BOLOGNA. It had tortellini filled with savory mix of mushroom and taleggio cheese swimming in a bowl of vegetable bouillon. The broth or bouillon was filled with flavor and was downright delightful.

The hero of the menu was definitely the LUNA. It was a personal favorite of the chefs as well and conceptualized and prepared by Chef Eraldo himself, he confessed he was rather proud of it. And when we ate it we knew why. It was savory pie, much like pizza, but all the goodness was filled into the pastry and then baked in the wood fired ovens till it was golden brown. And what came out was heaven in a slice. The pastry was crispy and yet holding together the filling of parma ham, mascarpone, black truffle, mozzarella mixed in with truffle oil. Could you GET more Italian than this? Definitely, definitely try this guys.

SUZZARA was a dish that I'd love to eat for dinner any day. Mr.TKD is big on mushroom sauce and he can polish off Chicken Stroganoff single-handedly if given a chance. The SUZZARA had a delicious mushroom sauce too, dribbling over a perfectly cooked, juicy chicken fillet. It also had a scoop of impeccable mashed potatoes adequately spiced and smooth as it can get. To balance it all it had fresh, grilled vegetables like broccoli, carrots and zucchini. A great dinner option!

The COPPARO followed which was described as a potato cake. This main had spice and baked squares of potatoes topped with spirals of crispied vegetables like the carrot  and beetroot which made it look beautiful.

What took our breath away was the dessert. An art in itself, it had a slice of apple strudel with a fine dusting of cinnamon and vanilla cream and cinnamon sauce. Everything went so well and was so great I stole the rest of Mr.TKD's dessert as well. The strudel had great crispy pastry and the apple inside was fresh and perfect. The cinnamon made everything good to better.

We would recommend this fest a thumbs up. Do drop by for a taste and do, do, do, oh do try the LUNA. However, if you are really unable to attend the fest, don't lose heart because they are adding the LUNA to the regular menu as well! Yay! You might just bump into us gorging on the luna :D

So the EMILIA ROMAGNA festival ends on 28th of August, Sunday. Be there at Prego, Westin to witness Chef Eraldo's genius and do make sure to pass on a compliment if you loved it :)
