No matter how much we make elaborate diet plans, no matter how many discussions we have on healthy eating, the truth of the matter remains as it is: We are dessert people. Try as he may, Mr.TKD always falls for a good dessert. Many a tasting sessions we have had when he has completely skipped the sweet dishes much to everyone's chagrin. But faced with a tempting, sinful dessert chances are he will break down enough to sample a bite. Which always leads to seconds and thirds and empties for me.
We were going through one of our 'We-are-on-a-serious-diet' weeks when Gozo Desserts offered us a treat which we might have accepted (we did) and devoured in a day (we totally did).
Gozo Dessert is a Pune based brand run by the lovely Poonam Joshi which offers homemade icecreams in a variety of flavors that will give you dessert dreams. And that is not even the best thing about it, the ice-creams are free from all harmful preservatives and added flavors that make it so much more healthier. Not to mention they are smooth and sinful.
The icecreams come in cute, handy jars that you can definitely reuse to store knick-knacks or kitchen stuff. The quantity is quite generous and considering it's all-natural, freshly-made dessert, the price is a steal. You get to choose out of a list of tempting concoctions and the jars are priced Rs 350 for 500 ml of goodness.
We were able to sample the Mango and Coffee flavored jars. And the joy of just holding the cute jars in your hands with a promise of polishing it off by the end of the day is priceless.
The COFFEE ICE-CREAM was deliciously loaded with right amount of caffeine and had bits of chocolate in it. It was like biting into cold coffee. We garnished our bowls with brownies and chocolate sauce. Frankly speaking I could have finished off the entire jar by myself but Mr.TkD gave me unreal competition that day.
The MANGO ICE-CREAM was probably our favorite. So fresh, it was like eating a real mango. And amazingly creamy. We loved every spoonful and that jar was perhaps the quickest to empty.
